Martha Wayne is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with the superhero Batman. She is the mother of Bruce Wayne, who is Batman, and wife of Dr. Thomas Wayne. When she and her husband are murdered in a street robbery, her son becomes inspired to fight crime as the vigilante Batman.
